Eligibility Requirements
About Families is dedicated to helping as many children and their families as possible. We offer free phone consultations for all families and in-depth home based services for families with children who meet the following criteria:
- Have Special Health Care Needs - disabling or chronic condition that is cognitive, physical, developmental and/or psychiatric
- Ages 0-21
- Are residents of Rhode Island
- Have legal custody of or power of attorney for children for whom services are being sought
- Are Medicaid eligible or currently enrolled in Medicaid (RIte Care, Rite Share, or SSI) or have an approved Katie Beckett waiver
- Live at home
For families that do not meet the above criteria, About Families staff will work with you on helping you explore your treatment options which may include filing application paperwork or outreaching alternate more appropriate treatment providers.
